Morton's--The Steakhouse Compliment - Fantastic Food & Service

Review by 87408 on 2009-04-19
Last night we had the pleasure of dining at Morton's--The Steakhouse.

I can't tell you what a nice experience it was from beginning to end. It was a birthday celebration and they started off by wishing the birthday celebrant a happy birthday when we were seated.. Then they handed us menus that had a birthday wish with the person's name and the date on the menu.

The food was absolutely delicious from beginning to end and the wait staff was fantastic in making sure all our needs were meet. They didn't come by too often, but just enough to make sure you didn't need anything else and were happy with your order.

After dinner, they brought us a dessert menu and we ordered. Then they brought us our dessert, one nicely decorated for the birthday, and took a picture. They brought it back in a cute frame, asking if we liked the picture, because if we didn't, they would take another :) The picture was a nice touch and something I have never experienced in any restaurant.

At the end of dinner, they gave us a nice discount card for our next visit and we noted on the bill that they did not charge for one of the desserts.

All in all, I would highly recommend Morton's for any special celebration. Although this restaurant is expensive, you won't be disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. If you were, they would bend over backwards to make sure it was corrected. They are located in several larger cities and also around the world. Check out their web site because sometimes they have special on-line offers. www.mortons.com

Thanks, boki. Appreciate it.

kia, wanna give us a hint as to which location this is? The individual restaurant deserves credit, not necessarily the chain.

It's not relevant jkt. The other one's I've been to in other cities have also been great. Check out the web page, www.mortons.com, for all their locations. I have already sent an e-mail to the corporate office to commend this particular location though.

jkt, I added a sentence to my last comment :) I also noted their web site on m3c when I wrote this. They will receive both now.

We don't have them down here but I will keep an eye out for them...

I want a steak now... That sounds so much better than whatever is in my fridge for lunch.

I find that steakhouses tend to have much better service than other types of restaurants, but I guess at $50-100 a head it should be.

Yeah, Ben, they can be pricy, but for a special night out, they can't be beat. It's definitely a nice treat once in a while.

I'll give them a try based on your review kia, but it's too bad I quit having birthdays. lol
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
No birthdays necessary, C2O, any celebration will do. Even a Friday, lol.

I wish they had one close to us! This place sounds yummy!

We've got steaks in the outside freezer that would make you drool! Fresh from the cow, straight to the table, 2 inch thick porterhouse, ribeye, and NY strips! We bought a cow last year slaughtered it, haven't gone out for steak since! For a birthday dinner though, definitely a place I'd like to try! Thanks for posting this.

After reading this post I could not shake the craving for beef, so I ran to the market and I am now slow cooking some beef ribs in my homemade BBQ sauce. I have to go to the gym this afternoon so I will feel less guitly tonight.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
Ben, what time should I come over?
Posted by Ben There on 2009-04-19:
They should be ready by 6pmish:) I am having a hard time getting motivated for the gym with the smells lingering in my house... The little red devil over my shoulder is saying skip the gym and drink beer all afternoon.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
That little devil always has the best ideas. I say give in a have some beer.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
Bettery nipples are a drink mrs. mod. Not inappropriate at all. It's a party.

The ribs were my best ever... Littleyaya you missed out.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
Dang it Ben. I was gonna bring some beer over but got distracted
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
Looking for your missing rib? lol!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
The ribs sound good, Ben. We slow cook them and then put them on the grill for the final touch. We slow cook them in beer actually.
Posted by Ben There on 2009-04-19:
That sounds good, kia... I had a couple beers while waiting so it ended up in the same place:)

I was waiting littleyaya!
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
Next time Ben.
Posted by Anonymous on 2009-04-19:
LOL, Ben. Ribs are good any time, but we like to serve them up when we have a crowd. Otherwise, we eat too much!
