How Do You Get Carseat Dents Out Of Leather Seats?

Review by rubygal87 on 2009-04-20
WILSON, NORTH CAROLINA -- My child's carseat has dented the seat on my 2008 Tahoe leather backseat. Also, it has stretched the leather. I took carseat out a week ago and it is still looking bad.

I know this will sound funny, but if you put a towel or small blanket on your seats before you put the car seat in, it will help prevent those dents. I know that has nothing to do with how to get them out, have you tried calling an auto detailing place to see if they know what to do?

Just google "how to remove dents from leather." Sorry I was lazy to search it myself. If I search the problem and provide the solution, would I be rewarded with another star? Life has its uncertainty.

I saw a post online about heating the dents up with a hair dryer and trying to smooth them out..but I'm skeptical of this. Worth a try anyway.

This is the product we use. The seats stay brand new, nothing stretches, and we have these seat saver in all 3 or our vehicles, as well as my parents and sisters cars. I bought everyone 2, for each vehicle. I bought mine from the car dealer, but found them at Target, less expensive, same brand, Lionheart, a slightly different style then what we bought. You can also get them in colors to match the seats. Worth every penny. We use the stage 2 ones, at the bottom left hand corner of the link I've posted.

To the OP:

I found this answer to your question, but there aren't any guarantee's.

Indentations cannot be 'rubbed out'.

Generally speaking this can be a problem. You can try heating with a hairdryer and massaging the area, this sometimes works. If it doesn't it is because either the finish has been 'stretched 'and will not go back or the foam inside the seat has become distorted and this cannot be restored back to its former shape.
