T-mobile Complaint - Never received rebate
FORT SILL, OKLAHOMA -- My husband and I got a cell phone with T-mobile last year. We decided to get a Samsung V205 (picture phone) only because it had $100 for new customers. They were out of the that particular phone, it was on back order, so we were forced to get a "loaner" from the store until our phone came in. The salesperson filled out our contract and put down the information for the loaner phone on our contract, since that was the phone we would be using for a while (since the other phones were in high demand and back ordered, we were told it could take a few months to come in). The manager of the store was actually nice enough to fill out all our rebate information for us, to make sure it was filled out correctly. We sent in the rebate information just to get a letter, 6 weeks later, saying we did not qualify for the rebate b/c our phone number wasn't valid. I called T-mobile and it was because someone on their end had incorrectly entered our area code. So we asked them to send our rebate, and we were told it would take 6 more weeks to get. Then we got a letter saying that we didn't qualify because we weren't new customers. We had NEVER had a phone from T-mobile before so I called to correct this error. They said it must have been a mistake, and that it would 6 more weeks. Got another letter, and 6 weeks later... another letter. We eventually got 5-6 letters denying us our rebate for different reasons, ie: "this was only for purchases between this date and that date", etc. Every time we called they said that everything checked out and that we did qualify, and all the rebate forms were properly filled out and submitted correctly. The only thing we could think of is because the salesman put down the loaner phone as our "first phone", and this rebate was only good on new activations with a new purchase of a Samsung V205 (you couldn't have had a different phone before it). We went to the T-mobile store and explained this and called T-mobile, but they still kept saying they didn't know why we weren't getting it... yet the letters we got denying us our $100 kept coming from them. It has been one year this June, and we still haven't received our rebate. Thank goodness my husband (who is military) received orders to be transferred and we were able to end our service with T-mobile (that is a whole other issue, which if it isn't handled properly by T-mobile I'll be filing formal complaints). I will never do business with T-mobile again.
