PIMA Medical Institute In Albuquerque Informative - Does Anyone Know If PIMA Medical Institute Hires Degreed Professional To Instruct There Courses?

Review by concerned002 on 2009-04-25
ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO -- I was under the impression that State LAWS prohibited the hiring of non-degreed individual to teach college students? Perhaps I am wrong.

In speaking to several students (4) who attended this college I was informed that, "PIMA does not care for there students, and they did not provide me with job placement as noted on the student contract", I was treated very poorly during my externship and PIMA did absolutely nothing about it, I was spoken to in an inappropriate manner, "yelled at by staff", some students at PIMA demonstrate bully like characteristics while instructors look the other way, instructors lack professionalism -violating student confidentiality, instructors cross the line in interacting with students on a non professional level (favoritism), staff gossip about students making racial remarks & rumors "Oh I thought she was like the rest of them -blahh", informants says Mrs. P.White is very polite to white students, bit acts unusual to minority students, I believe she is a a racist, students also left without instructor for close to three weeks then hiring a non degreed individual to instruct class. What is this all about?

[snip] @ PIMA -ABQ., claims to be an MD. and is referred to as [snip] however, in running a search on her name via-internet with NM State Lic, and Medical Board, there is NO SUCH A LIC or name in the data base. In contacting the bureau they have verified this information does not exist.

Please post any info as my daughter wants to attend this college next year.

Even id they do hire professionals with degrees, with all the issues you mention outside of that, why in the world would your daughter want to attend this place?!

Stay away from PIMA. They do not hire any professionals to teach. The people that teach courses are former Dental Assistants, Medical Assistants and Veterinary Assistants.

Not one of them have any teaching credentials. We had students that came from PIMA to do veterinary assistant externships at our animal hospital who were totally unprepared. Not their fault, it was PIMA's. They didn't even teach these poor students what size needle to use for procedures, they didn't have any experience drawing blood, it was a nightmare for them and us. PIMA sent them into the world not being able to perform simple tasks in the animal medical field.
