Sassi Soles Complaint - Wedding Shoe Fiasco
MERRILLVILLE, INDIANA -- I am very unhappy with my experience at Sassi Soles. I am the Maid of Honor in my cousin's upcoming wedding and went to Sassi Soles because I was informed that they could order dyeable shoes. I was given a brochure on Benjamin Walk shoes by the salesperson and I asked her which of the shoes in the brochure were available in Wide and was told that EVERY shoe in the brochure came in Wide. I repeatedly asked the salesperson if ALL the shoes pictured came in Wide and was told yes. So I made my selection & the salesperson filled out the order form for my shoes. A 6 NOT 6W was noted on the order form and I triple checked with the salesperson if she needed to designate a 6W and she assured me it was not necessary because ALL Benjamin Walk shoes came in Wide.
I was given a receipt but NOT a copy of the order form & was told my order would be available in 7-10 business days. On the 11th business day I got a phone call that my shoes had come in and 3 days later I went to pick up my shoes. I tried them on in the store and they appeared to fit okay but was not positive so I decided to take them home & walk around in them some more. WAS NEVER TOLD THAT ONCE I WALKED OUT THE DOOR WITH THE SHOES THAT THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO. When I got home and tried on the shoes again, I decided that they just didn't feel as wide as a wide shoe should be and looked at the box to find out that my shoes were in fact a 6M and NOT a 6W.
2 days later I returned to the store to complain that I had not received a wide like I was promised and was told by the original salesperson who helped me that there was nothing that could be done because I walked out of the store happy with the shoe I received and that whatever Benjamin Walk sent the store is what I received. The store manager & owner was present and I proceeded to tell her the situation. She searched for my order form & could not find it and asked the salesperson if she knew where she put it. The salesperson replied that she usually throws them out if the customer walks out satisfied but would check her bag. She found the order form & the manager proceeded to show me that a 6W was not in fact designated on the order form and I explained to her that that was because her employee repeatedly told me that it was not necessary because all Benjamin Walk shoes came in Wides.
At this point, the manager walked to the back of the store and came out with a master copy of the Benjamin Walk catalog that had all shoes listed & whether they came in Wides or not. I asked her WHY her employee had not gone in back and brought this out when I originally ordered my shoes and was told by the manager that it is not the store's responsibility to do the customer's research. I was APPALLED. I have been in retail and customer service myself and it is ALWAYS the salesperson's responsibility to TRIPLE check that the customer will be receiving the product they've ordered. I repeatedly asked the manager why I was told that ALL Benjamin Walk shoes come in Wide when in fact they don't and the salesperson got snotty with me and told the manager that she never told me any of this.
I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STORE AGAIN & WILL TELL ANY FUTURE BRIDAL PARTIES TO GO ELSEWHERE FOR SHOES.
