Home Depot Complaint - Bad Carpet Experience
CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE -- Home Depot definitely had the best price I could find to purchase and install my carpet. But in hind sight I wish I had paid a little more for quality service because in the end I got what I paid for. I paid $5000.00 to have carpet installed in my newly purchased home. It was installed by Home Depot via a company called Romanoff Floor Covering. The carpet came with a one year warranty on installation. My problem was that I deployed to Afghanistan a month after it was installed. By the time I returned home and settled back into normal life I found that I had a huge wrinkle in a high traffic area in my home. Although it was now 16 months since my installation I tried to see if it could be fixed. At no point between working with Home Depot or Romanoff did anyone ever give a hint at wanting to assist me. They simply stated that I could pay the same ones responsible for the poor installation more money to repair it. I even asked that someone could just come and look at my problem. I stated that if a professional installer would look at it and did not agree that it was simply an installation error that I would gladly pay to have it repaired. It’s sad that Home Depot will state that they Support the Troops in my community, but yet when asked to back it up they failed.
In the end a repair that would cost me $159.00 will cost them a lot more. I will not utilize their store ever again and will do my best to caution others from making the same mistake.
