United Parcel Service Complaint - United Parcel NO Service
CALIFORNIA -- Our son had a hardware failure on his laptop on his last day home from spring break. We had it repaired immediately and took it directly to be shipped. We paid $65 for 2nd Day Air.
The address we gave is the same one we've sent packages to on several occasions. It is the same location that where all deliveries are made to the students. The driver came on a Saturday and did not know the location of the mail boxes. He phoned my son so my son said he'd meet the driver where he was. By the time my son got there the driver was gone (if he had ever been there). We were notified that another attempt to deliver the package would happen in two days. It was not our fault, in any way, that the driver did not know where to deliver the package. We paid for a service that never happened.
When I tried to contact UPS to have the problem resolved more quickly I found that the phone numbers on the website never went to human beings. There was no way to get in touch with someone who could solve the problem. We paid for a service that didn't happen and the company refused to provide meaningful customer service.
Our son did not have his computer for two extra days during a time that was critical. We paid for the special shipping for a reason. UPS was completely disrespectful in not caring about the quality of their service or the importance of delivery of the package. They are disrespectful of all their shippers by not providing useful or timely customer service.
