JetBlue Complaint - Warning: Do Not Fly Jet Blue!
WASHINGTON, DC -- My two young children and I flew from Boston to Washington Dulles for April school vacation. When we arrived at the airport for our return flight, we were told by the ticket agent that our 4 pm flight had been canceled and no more flights were available that day. We could wait until the next day to fly home (and presumably incur hotel charges and miss work the next day) or we could get a FULL refund and take our chances with another airline. We were NOT called in advance to let us know of the cancellation, despite giving our cell phone number to JetBlue prior to our initial flight. The only flight we could get home on that day was a 10 pm flight on United for which we paid over $600. After arriving home, we found that JetBlue had only refunded $223 of the $906 we had paid for our 3 tickets. When I questioned this, I was told that our flights from Boston to Washington had cost $689 and the flights home had cost $223. Therefore, they only would refund $223. This was contrary to their own agent's claim that we would get a FULL refund, and not even plausible.
If they were only refunding the cost of our return flights, it should have been $453. Thus, we paid a net of $1300 for the pleasure of sitting at Dulles airport for 8 hours. I will NEVER fly JetBlue again!
