Amerigas Complaint - Why I Hate Amerigas
OAKLAND, MICHIGAN -- Called Amerigas a few weeks ago. Asked for one more delivery. Told them we have our year old granddaughter living with us. Was told we were switched from keep full to prepay. Checked website. outstanding balance was $30.00 [which was determined to be a late fee] Ok. I can live with that, because I had unexpected expenses that caused me to split the last payment between two building periods. And THAT was the only time in three years of being a customer.
Was told no delivery without prepay, but they could run my credit, which would take 72 hours. Having been a customer since 2005, I could not understand why a credit check was necessary. So, I said no thanks and found another supplier. Now, when my wife called to have them pick up their tank, they want $100.00 termination fee. First I got VERY angry, and then I realized that the damage I can do to their company [negative publicity], by telling what happened to me will more than compensate me for the loss of that $100.00.
Strange thing is, that I was on keep full until that last request for a delivery and I have the documentation to prove it.
