Thrifty Complaint - Upgrading "Scam"
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- Clerk said that the only compact car he had available had no power--not power steering, hand roll=up windows, bad on hills. Could upgrade for $12. I asked, would that be $12 A DAY? Oh, yes, he said. We held our ground, refused two attempts to upgrade, and were given a 2009 Suburu with power steering and power windows!
Wish I'd asked to see the clunker. It obviously didn't exist. Unethical to pull upgrade scam like that.
