Poor Quality And Unable To Clean - Complaint
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA -- I would like to join the others in complaining about Thomasville flooring. The product is very thin and though mahogany is a very hard wood, this flooring scratches from a plastic vacuum cleaner head. The worst feature of this flooring is it's inability to be cleaned and the film that develops on its surface which is very obvious in a sunlit room.
Home Depot has gone the extra mile in trying to resolve this problem but so far there has been no compensation or replacement.

the finish will scratch, has nothing to do with the species of wood. What are you cleaning it with? You shouldn't be using any cleaner but a microfiber mop.
