Toys R Us Complaint - Refusing First Aid Treatment To A 2 Year Old!
When shopping at our local TRU (Barrie, Ontario Canada) my toddler cut her finger pretty badly on a piece of metal on a shelf in the store. When I asked a sales person for a bandaid she said they didn't have anything. The finger was bleeding pretty bad so I ran around the store asking for a tissue or something. A local police officer was there doing a car seat clinic and he also said he did not have anything. I then said to the sales person you have to have a bandaid you must have a first aid kit. She said " Yes we do have a first aid kit but we cannot open it...we would have to fill out a bunch of paperwork. WHAT????? She said she couldn't get my child a bandaid after she cut her finger in their store???? The cut was so bad that after a week it still was infected and so I took a picture of it and pasted it on my facebook.
She has a scar and it was significant maybe could have used a stitch. I just left the store in shock as I was heading to my car I wondered how they could be so rude. I have purchased everything from TRU our strollers (4 of them) pottys, toys everything. I called head office to complain on two separate occasions and it took them a whole month to finally call me back. The lady then said did I fill out an accident report? I said no that would be the paperwork they didn't want to fill out. I told her I was even more angry that they couldn't be bothered to call me back to apologize she then replied I would love to compensate you but I can't without an accident report. Who asked for compensation?????? I then said I didn't ask you for anything I just want an explanation. she said I will have the manager of the store call you. That was over a month ago. Still no call!!!
But come to think of it, you would have to pay me to ever shop again at this store. Its just too bad because my kids love it there. I have not been able to bring myself back to shop there. We usually go there once a week for their reward board prize. Why should I spend my hard earned money in that store when they obviously can be bothered with my business.
