America Online Complaint - aol billing fraud - aol online services
I recently moved and received new phone number and today I received my first bill on it was a charge for 29.58 for Aol ONline services. I called my phone company and they said I needed to call AOL and they told me that apparently I had some ones old phone number and they had AOL and I would have to pay the bill now that I had that phone number. They told me if I did not it would go against my credit. I told them they better remove the charge and their operator told me they did not have to. Their operator would not even let me speak to a supervisor stating that I had no right to complain just pay the bill. I asked what was the name of the person that signed up and was told that was none of my business that since I now had that number I was the responsible party to the bill. I hung up on them and called my phone company back and relayed the conversation to them and they said they would remove the charge and block any charges from AOL to my phone number. I have sent this information along to the FCC my congressman, state senators and everyone else. AOL needs to be stopped doing business this way.
