Kemwel Complaint - Customer Non-Service
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- In the summer of 2007 we rented a car in Italy through Kemwel. While using the car, we got a ticket in Florence - not put on the car, but by a photo that captured the license plate. We did not know about this until a company in Sicily charged our credit card for the fine AND a 70 euro "processing fee". We immediately called Kemwel who told us they could not help us, we would have to call the Sicilian company - a six hour time difference, and a language that we weren't fluent in. To make matter worse, the Sicilian company billed us a second time for the same charges. Again, a call to Kemwel produced the same response, "We can't help." Of course Kemwel took the reservation and the credit card number when we made the original reservation, but now they have gotten their money, they can't help. Made me wonder what was the relationship between Kemwel and the Sicilian company.
Because of their lack of service, Kemwel lost a customer, and we have shared our experience will friends and acquaintances who are thinking of renting cars in Europe.
