Grant and Weber Complaint - Bad Collections Agency
CALABASAS, CALIFORNIA -- To start, there was nothing positive about my experience with this company. I have never been to collections before so I didn't know how it all worked. So I called up my representative and informed him that this was my first time dealing with a collections agency and asked him what I was supposed to do. He told me he could give me a 30 day extension so that I could figure it out!! yeah, he was expecting me to figure it out on my own!
I was still unsure what bill they were even talking about so I made some phone calls to the original billing company and to my insurance company Blueshield. I found out that Blueshield had never been billed to begin with. So, I called back my representative at Grant and Weber to ask him how to get Blueshield to pay for the bill..and how to get the bill to them. He then told me that he could send me the information that he had so that I could send it to them MYSELF.
So what do I do? I went downtown and payed $7.00 to fax Blueshield the information that my representative had mailed me. He assured me that he send enough information for Blueshield to pay for the bill.
I then called him back later that day and asked how soon Blueshield would pay for the bill because my deadline was in a few days. He answered by saying that it would take them a couple of months to process. Following that, I asked, "So does that mean I have to pay the FULL AMOUNT before the end of my extension so that it won't go against my credit?" Because I was worried about a ding going on my credit for not paying the bill right then. And he then told me, YES. Then I asked, "what if I don't have any money?" and he replied, "well then you will get a mark on your credit."
So, even though my insurance company was willing to pay for the whole bill I ended up paying for it. because, grant and weber didn't even send me the right/enough information to send to Blueshield. They should have sent me an itemized bill which I now know.
He would not help me any of the times I called and asked for help. The only things he would say was YES or NO when I asked him a question. Had I not asked any questions he would not even said anything to me. As of now, I am still trying to get this all figured out.
I am very upset with this company and would like to take them to court over it. they are scumbags!
also I have tried to get a hold of a supervisor but they refuse to return my calls.
