Subway, Hwy 53, Braselton, GA. Complaint - Devious and False Advertising on TV

Review by W2 on 2009-05-06
BRASELTON, GEORGIA -- On May 5, after seeing the Carl Edwards ads on NASCAR and all of the associated "Foot Long" ads on TV with all of their hype, I went to our local Subway and was quickly told that a Chicken Terriaki Sub was NOT $5.00 but $6.75. The reply was curt, there was no excuses given, there was no reference to the magic 8 subways that are $5.00. I said no thank you and left.

The TV ads on FOX tonight at 8:12pm and 9:12pm DO NOT state the magic 8 subs nor do they make any disclaimers to the fact that the Chicken Terriyaki Sub is not included. This is a "Bait and Switch" type ad just to get you into their shop. I don't mind saying NO! Maybe they sucker enough in to pay Carl and the the other hot names big money, but again, I am not ashamed to say NO!

After seeing the thousands of complaints on the internet, one can only guess they are lining the pockets of some of our crooked politicians to stay in business. Otherwise they would have been prosecuted long ago by the US Attorney General.

By the way, there are many other fast foods that do serve healthy food if you know what to look for.

I have already submitted a complaint to the company. Doubt if I will ever hear anything.

They have several sandwiches for $5, but they clearly do NOT advertise the $5 bargain on the terriyaki sandwich in the Carl Edwards ad. You are combining the ads in your mind and wanting them to humor you...please.

You could have asked what the 8 'magic' subs were when you were at the Subway.

Politics and $5 Subway sandwiches? I didn't know they made a baloney sandwich. I give up...

Just so you know...Subway isn't immune to taxes. People should know that there will be tax on whatever you get. Sorry. Take it up with the government because it happens everywhere, not just subway. Nothing is ever on the dollar. & I know for a fact that if they charged you $6.75, you failed to mention that you were getting a meal deal with chips and a drink, too. That's not free.I understand how that could be overlooked and like the song you'd want just a $5 footlong, but it's not good to be rude if something isn't what was expected.

And I bet you think if you buy a specific car, you and your friends will have a blast driving around town trying to get to clubs and then the next day surfing on the beach.
It's advertising. don't be a dope.
