Medco Health Solutions Informative - Online Prescription Service No Good For Insulin

Review by Kend on 2009-05-08
JERSEY, NEW JERSEY -- 1. Medicine arrives hot; I have measured the temperature of a bottle of insulin at 92 degrees when I took it out of the delivery persons hand. Medco refuses to pack properly or ship overnight to prevent this. When I notified them that it happened, they will not replace the insulin.

2. I ordered insulin and the prescription did not have refills; they did not contact my MD as they say they will nor did they notify me that it would not ship. I got a new prescription for a different quantity and when they spoke with the doctors office to verify; they shipped the older order for the smaller quantity (Why would there system even allow this?). Now they will not fill again with the correct amount for 3 months. This makes it impossible to use the insurance to pay for medicine the way my Dr. prescribes it.

3. They mark up the "list" price for your medicine and ask you to pay your 20% (or whatever your insurance calls for) which amounts to you paying almost the same as if you went to your local pharmacy and bought it at real market prices without insurance. Is there no regulation on what they can set the "list" price to?

4. They are in New Jersey....enough said.

Well, being they are from NJ they should move to Philly or NYC where strong arming is the way to be. To strong arm mail order on people when the pharmacy worked well(remember the saying "if it aint' broke, don't fix it")then saying that people have to be "pushed" into change. uhg...how more communistic can one be? About the insulin, yeah well that's if the medicine comes at all.
Medco treats insulin as if it was a vitamin, they'll ship it "whenever" meanwhile a diabetic will die from complications due to lack of medication. I guess they will be charged with wrongful death which is criminal and David Snow will to jail time. I hope that will be worth him raking in the money now. Because he will pay for it eventually
