Whirlpool - Excellent Experience With Top Load Washers
I have Whirlpool coin operated washers in some apartment houses where they get about 100 loads a month and I do my own maintenance. They are incredibly reliable, about one problem every two years per machine. Problems tend to be a baby sock in the pump, once a coupling went out due to the sock, and once a pump bearing, but very easy to fix, I don't even use a manual. These machines get HARD use because the residents often wash boots, heavy tennis shoes and overload them terribly. And once a lid switch, but the replacement was designed different and does not have the original weakness.
I have also bought 4 for use in apartments, and one would not spin, but Whirlpool sent out a repair person from a private appliance repair company who replaced the transmission in minutes and no problems in the following year.
My father had a chain of laundry stores in the '50s and '60, with Bendix front loaders, and I used to help him after school. I would never buy a front loader, well, maybe in 2020 when the bugs have been worked out, but even in Europe they have trouble with their front loaders leaking and bearings going out.
