Maytag Complaint - Poor Service Call
LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NEW JERSEY -- I was made aware of a recall on my Maytag frig. I contacted the recall center and an appointment was made for 4/30/09 between the hours of 8am - 5 pm. I took a day off from work costing me $250.00 in lost wages. No one showed up or called. I called to find out what happened and I was told they did not have the name of the county I live in. I was given a $100.00 good will gesture and rescheduled for 5/12/09 between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm. Maytag also gave me the number of A & E Factory Service as they will do the repair. Again I took off from work (another $250.00 lost wages) and waited for the repair man. By 3 pm I heard nothing so I called A & E and was told a repair man was at my home or called but no one answered or at home. I assured A & E no one called or showed up. I was told that some one would call before 5 pm; no one did. Today 5/13/09 I called Maytag and a representative who "shared my concern" could do nothing except make another appointment with another service company and that service company will be "in touch" with me. As for lost wages, I would receive nothing. I asked for a supervisor and was told one would call me back. I was unable to speak to anyone above the phone representative. It took several minutes to get the name and address of Maytags CEO.
I will never, ever purchase a Maytag appliance again and I will tell everyone I can about the poor service Maytag offers customers.
PS: The product was on recall because it might go on fire. That tells you much about the MAYTAG lack of quality
