Metlife Auto Complaint - Does Metlife Auto Lie?

Review by egghead on 2009-05-12
BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA -- I have had auto insurance with Metlife for over twenty years. I received a notice from the state Insurance Commission that my insurance was canceled and must pay a fine of $125.00 each for three cars. I called Metlife thinking I could pay to have my policy reinstated. Wrong!! They had to write a new policy which was $50.00 a month more plus the collision on two autos was canceled. I DID NOT RECEIVE A NOTICE OF EXPIRATION. Is this done to raise my rates? They could have found out that they could cancel to get higher rates by not sending notices. They do not have proof of notice and neither do I. Who won that battle, Metlife. I am on SS and have to find cheaper insurance. Because of cancellation, I must pay the state who doesn't care for they will make $375.00 to type into a computer that I paid. (State of Louisiana) I had closed my checking account because someone got $400.00 by defrauding. Not Metlife Auto nor my bank told me that Metlife was on autopay and could not get their money.

Well, I am looking for cheaper insurance and will tell you not to put your faith in Metlife that they will help you. Egghead

How could you NOT known about auto-pays coming out of your account?
