Publix Grocery on Curry Ford Rd Complaint - Kicking The People While They Are Down

Review by dcap on 2009-05-13
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- So, my husband went into the Publix on Curry Ford Rd today to pick up some things for brunch. I have to add that this list was limited due to severe limited funds and when the cashier rang him up, she took off produce that was priced as normal and rang it up at a more expensive price per pound. The cashier deliberately voided off the bananas and rang them up again as oranges because they were about. 30 more per pound. Maybe some are being hit by the economy than others, but my family is close to losing everything, so the little bit we have to get by has to count. I just had to say something because I am shocked that a grocery store I like so much would train their cashiers to do such a thing.......:(

I called 407-282-7997 and all they replied was "sorry".... Horrible business..... Severely disappointed.

Did you say anything to the cashier when they were doing this or check your receipt before leaving?

What did the store manager say when you approached him/her after the items were rung up incorrectly?

Publix are awsome grocery stores, TW. They carry everything from top of the line gourmet items to really great sales for everyday items. We've lost several Brunos and Winn Dixies in this area and there is buzz about getting Publix here instead and people are looking forward to it.

The OP's hubby should have stopped them immediately and asked what was going on. After the fact, its hard for corporate to address.

I'm sure the cashier didn't charge you for oranges instead of bananas on purpose. The look up number for bananas is 4011 and the look up for oranges is 4012, I'm sure it was an honest mistake. Relax, I'm sure the extra dollar or so really put you over the edge, but just go back, they will take care of it for you.

Watson Blvd. Publix mgr is the best. I used to mystery shop them and every time, really every time they got 10/10. They must treat their people better than Kroger, as I also shop them and I do not ever get a 10 out of them. In fact I know a few employees they should fire. But now I get to go to Publix and so don't care anymore.
