Guardsman Complaint - Stained Mattress
Resolution Update on 05/19/2009:
Star Furniture is doing the right thing and replacing the damaged mattress.
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- This is my second experience with Guardsman.... best I can tell, they collect money, but do not cover claims or requests.
They trick you to answer questions like you are an expert then deny the claim without seeing the damage on the furniture or mattress.
I purchased the plan in case the "over-priced" Serta mattress failed (it did). Guardsman will not cover cleaning since I can't identify the stain. I did not see the stain occur, nor is there other evidence that I caused the stain. It may have surfaced from the inside of the mattress. Who knows -- I'm not an expert!
To top it off... Star Furniture (who sold the mattress and plan) says the manufacturer's warranty is void since there is a stain of unknown nature.
Comes down to it, no one is at fault and the consumer suffers. The companies are all lawyer/contracted up and the consumer is left in the cold with no options. We (consumers) can help each other.
Don’t get sucked in on the promise of “wonderful” it does not exist at Guardsman!
