DISH Network - Bank Theft Informative - DISH Network - Bank Theft

Review by Anonymous on 2004-04-22
LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK -- My local cable company recently bought out my contract with Dish Network so I could switch to their service where I already have my DSL and my DSL phone line, they did this without me having to sign a contract. I called to cancel with Dish and a week later they sent me the box and UPS label to send back the equiptment. I sent the box back two weeks after receiving it. While the equiptment was in transit they hit my bank account seven times in four days to the tune of $500. Like others who now know better, I used my VISA check card when I originally signed up and to pay my bill online. To make a long story short, I finally had to call corporate headquarters in Colorado to get someone that would tell me when I would get my money back (3-5 days). So-called customer service told me it could be as long as six weeks, when I complained they hung up on me!

I urge anyone that has DISH network now to call their local cable TV company and ask if they would buy out your contract with Dish to switch. The IO I have with Cablevision is far superior to the Dish (and cheaper) and I didn't have to lock into a contract. This company needs to be put out of business. If anyone did use their VISA/Mastercard bank card with this company I'd cancel the card and get a new one, or even if you used a credit card I'd do the same thing.

people for the last time do not give out checking info. if you waited two weeks to send this junk back as you stated kiss your money good bye, you usually have 14 days to return their junk. say bye bye to your money.
