Ezra Reuven, Inc Auto Repair - 48th St Complaint - Turned Routine State Inspection Into Fraudulent Repair Bill
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- I droppen my car off here to be inspected because it was convenient (I lived two blocks away at the time) When I called them a few hours later to see if the car was ready, they told me it didn't pass and emissions and would need an O2 sensor. Keep in mind that this car easily has passed inspections and emissions test before that point. He apparently either owns or works with a shop around the corner on Baltimore Avenue and allegedly the technicians there were the one's who stated this. So I asked him how much and he said over SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS. At the time I could not afford to go without my vehicle because of my line of work at the time, so I agreed to it. He calls me back and said after the costly repair it still did not pass emissions. But he said he would give me an "Exempt" sticker (which is issued in place of an emissions sticker here in Pennsylvania in cases where a vehicle owner spends two hundred dollars or more to correct an issue and the vehicle still fails after the repairs have been made) I had the vehicle looked at by another mechanic and was told that the O2 sensor was not replaced and had been removed, wiped off and put back in.
This has been sued in small claims court a bunch of times and is on the southeast corner of 48th and Spruce Streets in West Philadelphia, it also may be affiliated with a shop at 45th Street and Baltimore Avenue.
DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. THEY WILL SCAM YOU.
