Wal-Mart Complaint - Photo Center Scam Customer
EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN -- I am writing a review about my experience at the Wal Mart Supercenter in Eau Claire, WI. All I wanted as I came into the store was to print three wallet sized photos of my nieces and nephew to put on a photo birthday cake. I went to the Kodak machine and thought that I had chose the wallet sizes because I used to always do that (get wallet sized photos from a 4x6), but when the photos were printed out, I got three 8x10's sheets. I wasn't sure how much one 8x10 would cost, but assumed that it'd be no more than $2 because a 4x6 is $0.28. The photos I received turned out to be 4 4x6 on an 8x10 sheet, so I decided to reprint them to get all wallet sizes. So, I ended up getting 6 8x10 and not knowing what the price was because they had put a little note by the machine that "prices for 8x10 will not be shown with the total." Also remember, while they had the prices for the 4x6 and everything else near the machine, there was not a price for the 8x10 except for a lonely $ sign.
I was horrified when I went to the counter to pay and saw that 1 8x10 was roughly $5 a piece. I ended up paying exactly $30 for three wallet sized pictures (i just wanted 3!!). I was not happy and went to customer service. Obviously, the people there need to be trained to actually have some customer service skills before working there. I believe I would not have been so upset if I was able to see the price for an 8x10 at my Kodak workstation. Was it that hard to put the price of $4.74 on there? IT was blank; there was a note about the cost of 8x10's not showing on the total, so I don't understand why those people didn't put the price on there. Customer service told me that they could not do a refund because I chose to do it myself. I understand, but am very furious that many of the options for sizes on the Kodak machine were 8x10's and again, the price for these were not anywhere near the workstation.
So I had to pay $30 for three wallet sized photos. Just great. There's a Wal Mart in Hallie, which is about 20 minutes away from the horrible customer service one in Eau Claire, and I went to check out their photo area. Their Kodak machine had ALL the prices listed by the sizes--all visible to any customer. I will no longer shop at the Eau Claire Wal Mart.
