Review by mskrad on 2009-05-25
CARMICHAEL, CALIFORNIA -- Over the past 3 months I have sent repeated requests to "unsubscribe" from these emails. No response and I still get regular emails.

A lot of times, when you click on that'unsubscribe' link on emails, you simply add your name to another list they have. Those are bots, automated programs that send thoe emails out by the hundreds of thousands. If you simply close the email, the program reads that as no response, and it deletes the name as no good. Your clicking the unsubscribe button simply keeps your name active in their database. Close the email without clicking anything, and they will go away

They are in violation of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003.

Easiest way to stop the junk is to add their email address to your filters.

It would probably help if you actually clicked the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email instead of sending an email reply to customer service that says "unsubcribe." usually there is a button where you need to do it yourself. no "request" sent to them will do this for you.
