Ashley Furniture Compliment - Don't Be Quick To Judge
NEW YORK -- I went into an Ashley Furniture and spent a over 2k to furnish a new apartment. The only catch was I'd need the furniture by the 1st from either the store or their distribution center, as I was moving that day. I was assured that it would be at least at the distribution facility and there was a 50/50 chance it'd be in store.
So I call today to see where it is at and the order hasn't even shown a shipment from the factory and the delivery date to the distribution center was scheduled a few days later than the 1st. I tell them this is a large problem as it will be very expensive for me to get the furniture now and I was given the word of the floor manager it would be there. The lady I spoke to said she would speak to her store manager and they'd call me back sometime today.
Immediately I jumped online and searched Ashley Home Furniture Cancellation policy and saw an absurd 30% fee with many many many complaints. I started feeling lucky I may have gotten off with a 12% fee at my store (which is reasonable). I was ready to go to battle with the manager and try and work something out in my favor.
It only took them an hour to get back to me and the store manager himself called me back saying he had taken care of everything to assure that the furniture would be there on the 1st. He even went as far as ordering one of the tables from two different factories as a failsafe.
Long story short, don't sell Ashley Home Furniture short. I got great customer service while shopping and now after and it was all to cater to my constraints.
I'll update you all to let you know if everything goes smoothly.
Remember they are all independently owned, generally AZ sounds bad, but give them a shot elsewhere.
