Courtyard by Marriott Complaint - Fraudulent Erroneous Pet Charges For A Non Existent Pet

Complaint
Review by B dub on 2009-05-26
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- While staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in West Palm Beach Florida. I was awakened by a call that said a dog was in the hall seen coming out of my room. After the staff then searched my room and no dog was found I assumed they found it elsewhere. On checking out several days later there was a charge for a pet and a pet cleaning charge for $125. What a total rip off for something that never occurred and apparently no recourse other then tell the world that the Courtyard by Marriott will steal from you without any supporting evidence. Other than the mistaken eyes of hotel staff.

Most ridiculous occurrence ever in 45 years of travel.

Dispute the charges with your credit card company.

I wonder if this is a new scheme to steal from customers like rental car agencies and the bogus fuel charge.

B dub, so you went ahead and paid the fee? I would do as Soaring suggested and file a charge back. Let them prove that you had a dog there or maybe that you even own a dog?

Does this sound to anybody else like the weird smoking charges that people get for non-smoking rooms? Just another way to get more money?

not to mention the fact that they woke you up in the middle of the night for it...

what proof do they provide that says you had a dog?
