Evercom Billing Services Complaint - cutting off peoples collect calls from a facility

Review by Anonymous on 2004-04-25
EL NIDO, CALIFORNIA -- I feel that it is our choice to accept call from loved ones in a correctional facility and these companies are making money off of people who have had their income changed by the situation and these companies are charging way too much money especially for a collect call that is a few miles away. sometimes people in their need to call home but can't because they are only allowed a certain amount of calls. We pay for our phone service and don't need another company getting rich off of people just because they can. People need to voice their complaints and get these people off of our phone lines.

Go to their website and click under customer comments. You will find out two things, 1) authorities have equipment provided be Evercom to monitor inmate phone calls and 2) Evercom is paying a fee to the prisons to help offset the cost of housing convicts.
