United Airlines Complaint - Not Much Hope! - Lost Baggage
CLINTON, MARYLAND -- I, nor my family members, will patronage United ever again. I have been traveling around the world for 22 years aboard airplanes, mostly business travel. No matter may arrival time--early, on-time, or late; my bags always arrived with me. My first experience with flying United (cheapest rate)--BWI to SFO to Maui and return Maui to LAX to BWI--and my bags have been missing since 5/22/09.
Three representatives (who are in India/the Philippines at a call center) have told me the (4 feet tall/50 lbs) suitcase had been scanned at the plane on the tarmac in Maui, but never scanned/showed up at our connecting airport LAX. Ultimately the suitcase never arrived at my final destination BWI. To me this means that a worker on the tarmac or in the loading area somehow stole it. A Fifteen day wardrobe, under garments, shoes, toiletries, electronics, prescribed medications, souvenirs/gifts, and not to mention a very expensive suitcase purchased in Paris, France-- DISAPPEARED! POOF! GONE! VANISHED! I guess we got what we paid for!
All I have received from United’s representatives is “We are doing everything we can" or "we are searching for your bag" and the latest "the tag must have fallen off of the bag". HOG WASH! Those tags don't just fall off -- heck I can't even rip them off. I wonder if anyone is even taking the time or putting forward the effort to look/search for the missing part of my and my daughter’s life experience.
In this revelation, I researched and found United to be America’s number 2 worst airline -- Baggage Mishandling: 22,059 bags. Having no other clothing, I am an unfortunate victim of United’s luggage games. Will I be compensated for interim purchases? I have no faith in anyone finding or having my luggage returned. Neither am I looking forward to United Airlines rendering FAIR compensation. I truly anticipate being rebuffed by their lost baggage department; like the numerous blogs/complaints found online.
