Suncoast Energys Complaint - Price Gouging - Gasoline

Gasoline - Complaint
Review by soas on 2009-05-27
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- On May 26, 2009, we stopped at Suncoast Energys gas station located at 5928 Butler Nat'l Dr., Orlando. Florida for gas. The price was not displayed but the going price at this time is about $2.379 for regular. When the pumping started the price showed up at $4.199 per gallon!!! That is $1.80 OVER the going rate. This is outrageous!

Now I see other complaints about this gas station for the same reason. I'm calling the BBB.

Yep, it's outrageous. Many people have complained. Here and to the state agencies. They are not doing anything illegal. They target unsuspecting transients and are making a killing.

While it does sound like this station is legally taking advantage of people...I really wish people would understand the claims they make:

Price Gouging
noun
pricing above the market price when no alternative retailer is available

There are several other gas stations within a mile of this one...how exactly is this situation "Price Gouging"??

Yeah Suncoast is well known for price gouging in Orlando. Perhaps sharing your lesson learned will prevent somebody else from getting price gouged by Suncoast. Good review!

This is not price gouging, its "highway robbery."
