Hot Shot Resumes Complaint - Unfair Business Practice

Review by hotshotresumes.com=crook on 2009-05-27
****** at Hot Shot Resumes (hotshotresumes.com) sells her product in every major city. She advertises on Craigslist. I contacted her by email (*****@hotshotresumes.com. Although I had already found her website she replied within several minutes and refered me to visit it. ****** explained that she could start on the resume right away. I was in a bit of a rush. Her service was to be 1-2 days. I was told that once I made my payment she'd email a question for to gather all my information. I sent $70.00 via Paypal. Then I waited. I know that Paypal sends a email to advise her of my payment. A couple hours later I sent a reminder about the questionair. During the course of the day I sent out four requests. None of them were replied to. I waited until the next day. Still nothing. I sent another request 26 hours after my payment. I waited and finally asked for a refund. Yep no answer. I made the decision to file a dispute with Paypal. Guess what? Two minutes later ****** emailed me! She explained that I need to drop my dispute and stop playing games. Heide escalated the claim and even admitted in the resolution center that she had not provided any service to me. She did lie when she stated that she did sent the questionair. ****** refuses to refund my money even though she has no reason to keep it. ****** is a thief and a liar. I lost out on my money because Paypal states they can't litigate funds for a virtual service. Paypal is biased to sellers for obvious reasons. I'll be closing that account soon as well.

Me thinks wanting someone to pop a resume that my future and lively hood are based on in 24-48hrs is a little far fetched.
Why did you not do it yourself?

$70 for someone you don't even know to write your resume?

Professional resume writers can and do charge $2-$300 dollars. Crazy!

But I agree, why pay when there are many online resources to write your own resume? Career finder sites like monster and career builder both have them, as does microsoft online, and I'm sure there are many others out there. The library is another good resource.

Jbc, the library is a good resource, indeed.

Sounds like she needs to change her delivery expectations. If it gets busy for her she can't possible answer everyone in a timely manner.

I have made three on my own thus far. Looking for an edge.

I do not have any friends in the resume biz. Thankfully I have never needed a resume until now. I have work since age 11 for 33 years.
