RoomfulExpress and Ashley Furniture Complaint - Nobody Cares. . . - RoomfulExpress and Ashley Furniture

PITTSBURGH/MONROEVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- My complaint is with RoomfulExpress (Monroeville, PA) with an order of Ashley Furniture. I am not sure exactly who is at fault, but since no one is doing anything about it, my complaint is with both. After reviewing some of the complaints, I realize now that I am not the only one that Ashley Furniture is treating this way. I noticed that someone made the comment about considering how much I paid, but I don't really consider $6,000.00 being all that cheap, even though I know it could be more. At the first delay, I was very patient, but I have been waiting almost 6 months for a dining room set to come in, however, every time it is ready to be delivered, they call and tell me that it is damaged and will have to be reordered.

This has happened at least 3 times now. Being that I don't even see these items and it is the store telling me it is damaged, it is not even because I am too picky, just in case some may think that. The first delivery was made with just chairs and part of a buffet, none of those items came undamaged either, so I have been paying on items that are unusable and are sitting in my home while I wait on replacements as well as the rest of the set. The quality is very poor with gaps where light shines through where pieces are to be connected and a whole section on the buffet has dropped on one side.

These are not minor defects. I would be willing to overlook some things, if I could just get a full set of items in approximately the same year, but every time they have to reorder, we are talking another 8 weeks at least! The set is a unique color and design which I designed the room around before I knew this was going to happen. The worst part is that no one seems to care or is doing anything about it! They tell me they are going to check into it and call me back, but they don't. They seem to think this is just normal business.

Not one person has directed me to someone who can help me or even make me feel better about the situation. I can't believe in this economy when businesses should be worried about having sales, that they take this attitude. I would think that they would be a little more concerned with how their customers view them, especially since there competitors (Levin Furniture who was wonderful!) that I bought from after this sale, did such a tremendous job all around in comparison. I would never, ever recommend RoomfulExpress or Ashley Furniture to anyone and will do my best to make sure everyone knows how they do business. RoomfulExpress is blaming Ashley for the furniture not arriving at their warehouse in good condition. My opinion of this is if they want to keep their customers, someone from RoomfulExpress needs to be concerned enough with Ashley destroying their business and to let them know if they want to continue to receive their orders, that they need to do something so that they can keep both of their customers happy. I keep seeing all their advertising attempts for more and more business by both companies, but I think that first they need to concentrate a little more on being able to satisfy the customers they already have which they don't seem to be able to do. At the rate they are going, I could have had a whole house built in the time they are taking on a few pieces of furniture.
