Lowe's Complaint - Veterans Boycott Lowes
FT. WAYNE, INDIANA -- My father has worked for Lowes for some time, and was hoping as a Veteran he could take me to see the Washington, D.C. Memorials on Fourth of July or Memorial Day Weekends and tell me about them. Explain why my brother chose at this time to be a Marine and what he experienced for his country. These request or any requests to get time off on either of these holidays were refused by Store #1105 in Ft. Wayne, IN.
He no longer participates in our scout programs, worked Easter Sunday when he asked for the day off to deliver free meals to those who were home or bed ridden.
He has had 1 weekend off in over 2 months, and never has time to spend with me anymore because he closes almost all the time.
My dad says he is lucky to have a job, and is told everyday at work the same thing. He may be lucky, but our family is not. My dad says he was suppose to get some raise of a quarter two months ago and still has not seen it. For what he gives up at home you would think he was worth it. He never calls in sick and says he does it for us.
When I graduate from school are these the kind of people I will have to work for? I hope not!
