Bristol-Plymouth Moving Complaint - Damage To My Personal Property

Review by carreiro on 2009-06-02
FALL RIVER, MASSACHUSETTS -- I will never use this company again. A moving crew from this company damaged the headboard to my new bed. The bed was already inside my home and was not moved in by the crew. The crew dropped a 2 piece box spring into the bed frame and damaged the headboard. The owner/president of the company [snip] was unsympathetic and refused to pay for the damage caused by his employees.

I will be taking this matter to small claims court. I do not recommend this company.
Company Response on 07/09/2009:
Mr Carreiro's move was scheduled to begin 11:30-1:30. He misunderstood and at 11:45 called the office irate. We took 1/2 hour's time off of his bill as a matter of 'good business' (deducting $52). After the move was completed, he called to say the movers 'nicked' his wall. He refused to allow BristolPlymouth repair the tiny dent but did agree to another $25 off his bill. He called more than 2 weeks later and said he thinks we may have damaged his new headboard. We did not move the headboard. Because we did not handle the headboard at all, the owner refused to pay for something the company did not even touch. Mr Carreiro has since written this same terrible review wherever he can, as he threatened to do. We have been a Gold Quality Agent for residential, commercial and military since 1983 and continue to uphold very high standards on ALL moves.

That is a good way to go. When you go to court, bring lots of pictures of the damages, and the receipt for the bed. It's 50/50 that they will default and not even show up. If this happens, you can send the sheriff out to collect payments. The sheriff will charge for this, but you can add it to your judgment.
