Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center Complaint - I used to have a mailbox at Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center and I had many problems receiving my mail!
PLATTSBURGH, NEW YORK -- I just read a previous complaint about Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center on my3cents.com, and since I also had an unfavorable experience with this company, I thought that I'd add "my 3 cents"!
I am a student at Plattsburgh State University and last September, I opened a mailbox at Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center. In the four months I had the box open, I had many problems concerning letters and packages which I never received, but I know were sent.
My suspicions were finally confirmed when, after not receiving a package containing gold coins I was expecting, I checked the FedEx tracking number of the package and discovered that it was signed for by "Chantal", who is an employee at Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center. When I confronted the owner of this facility, she looked in a binder and denied ever receiving the package! She said that FedEx must have made a mistake. When I pointed out that the package was signed for by "Chantal", which is the name of one of her employees, she said that Chantal was a common name in the North Country!
I called up the merchant and explained the situation, and they told me that since someone signed for the package, they would not replace it. I then called up the local FedEx office and they said that they would launch an investigation. The next day I spoke to the driver who delivered the package, and he said that he would sign an affidavit attesting to the fact that he delivered the package to Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center and that it was signed for by "Chantal".
I returned to Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center and told the owner that the FedEx driver was going to sign an affidavit swearing that he delivered the package and that he witnessed "Chantal" sign for it. Her attitude at first was defensive, but when I told her that I would be filing a police report, she became very apologetic. She said that she would scour the store for the package and asked me to come back in two hours. I returned in two hours as requested, and lo and behold... she found the package! She apologized and claimed that the package was "misplaced". BULLPUCKY! Although none of the contents of the package were missing, there was evidence that the package was tampered with. The owner and/or the employees of this facility probably knew what was in the package and they intended on stealing it. They didn't count on the fact that they weren't dealing with an idiot who wouldn't accept their lame excuses as to why the package was missing. Needless to say, I immediately closed my mailbox as I will not do business with deceitful liars like the owner and her employees. As with the other person who posted a complaint against Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center on my3cents.com, she refused to give me a refund on the remaining two months of pre-paid mailbox rental fees. I told her that she can shove that money where the sun doesn't shine!
My advice to anyone who might consider dealing with Plattsburgh Mail and Shipping Center is DON'T!
