Review by alicea on 2004-05-01

I was on my way to New Jersy when i stopped for a bite to eat. My car would not start so i had it towed to a car shop. I called them in an hour or so , like they told me too.
This is what "they" said i had to have in order to get my car to start and run.
A new battery, both battery cables, starter, something called a seloniod i think a ignition mod. what ever that thingy is ,plug wires and a dist. cap. Does any one think i was taken for a ride, I do take care of my car it is a 1990 ford taurus v-6 with 75,000 miles on it. They charged me a total of $758.89 for all that.
I feel i was , what's that word Ripped Off.
Any advice or suggestions , i feel like i was run over by the money crabbers.
Here is my e mail address>>>> If any one can help me ( missalicea2003@yahoo.com ) , I live in DE.

Sign be baffled and very upset. OH by the way this just happened on Thurday.......I guess because im a FEMALE they can do this to me.

If I am not mistaken...1999 Taurus doesn't have a distributor cap...most cars are distributeless now. Checking the battery should have been very simple. Either it has a dead cell in it or it doesn't. I think you got robbed big time!

Unfortunatley you got hammered!! You have a greater chance of hitting mega millions lottery than all those componets going bad at once.

Wish you would have commented earlier I just am not sure if this can be helped afterwards. Try contacting the BBB. I usually hate the BBB because they are usually ineffective, but I don't know what else to do, it's worth a shot.
