Marie Callender's Complaint - No Confidence Left In Their Brand

Review by no confidence on 2009-06-05
MEDFORED, OREGON -- After dinning out at Marie Callenders restaurant in MedFord Or three times in a row I can now say fairly I have no confidence in this company ability to produce a the high quality and consistent product that I used to know them for.

THE PIE: was not fresh and did not taste like the pies I used to purchase for many years past

POT ROAST: the pot roast gravy was runny and tasted flat and watered down.

TURKEY DINNER: was unflavored and cold in the middle.

NOTE: I have now learned that Marie Callenders restaurant food is frozen and NOT MADE FRESH.

ATTENTION MARIE CALLENDER "BEAN COUNTERS: If you are going to continue to apparently attempt to appease your share holders and not your customers whom buy the product and support the shareholders than you will like a lot of other name brand companies before you eventually go out of business.

GO BACK TO THE QUALITY AND SERVICE THAT BUILT YOUR COMPANY AND YOU THEN BE POSITIONED FOR MANY MORE YEARS OF PROFITABLE RETURNS FOR YOUR SHARE HOLDERS.

I AND MY FAMILY HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN YOUR BRAND ANY LONGER AND WILL NOT BE DINNING OUT AT YOUR RESTAURANT AGAIN.

Just goes to show what I know, I had no clue they even had restaurants, just frozen food. Helpful review.

Boki, I think the restaurants are located largely in the west/southwest area of the country. When my Sis and her family were stationed in CA, they told of going there quite often and really enjoying the food. If I remember correctly, Marie started out baking pies, and later expanded to other foods. Wish they had one located near me because I like her stuff. Maybe the location the poster frequents is an evil step-sister. :)

I just asked hubby and he said he had heard about them and they were supposed to be good! My luck, they'll go downhill before I ever get to try them. I know the frozen stuff they make is way above average..

Yeah I had no idea there were restuarant either. Wonder if the food has as much sodium in it as the frozen dinners.

Poor service. Given the wrong take pie. Our service was very poor. A friend of mine and I went for, the easiest order, salad and soup bar. We had no refills on our sodas, the cornbread was cold and we were given the wrong take out pie. I feel there should be a compensation for our meals. Another thing, when we were last in there, they gave me back my $10.00 promo card so I could come back and reuse it. The waitress said they would not accept it because it was passed the expiration date. I explained that we were given it back so we could use again anytime. She talked to management and he said that he would honor it. When she gave us the bill, she said her manager said he would only take 20 percent off the bill.i ordered the banana cream pie with strawberries and was given a banana cream pie. We didn't know until we got home. We are both in power chairs and could not make it back to exchange it. It's 2 miles from our houses it was 103 outside. Needless to say we are very frustrated with the Marie Calendares in Riverside on Merrill St.
