7-Eleven, Inc. Complaint - 7 Eleven Employees = Weird - Uniformative

Uniformative - Complaint
Review by solowizard on 2009-06-08
I went inside a 7 Eleven store in downtown Chicago, Illinois on Michigan Avenue between Lake Street and Randolph. I saw a sign that advertised 2/$3 for one of the Nabisco products on display. When I grabed one and attempted to pay for it, the cashier tried to charge me the regular price. I pointed out the sign to him and he said that 2/$3 means "buy two items and get a 3rd for three dollars."

Also, I'm not at all against employing the Homeless, but this same 7 Eleven store has a homeless guy working for them that's always filthy, ungroomed and smelly. To make matters worse, when he's not inside the store, he can usually be found in the nearby alley behind the store drunk and he often uses the alley to release bodily functions.

2/$3 means two items for 3.00. Not get a third for 3.00. You can buy a whole family sized package for that price.

2 for $3.00... that was simple to understand.

And typically (but not always) when an item is on sale 2/$3, then you must purchase 2 of the items to get the discount...the purchase of 1 item would be at the regular price.

My Monday started off like poo - but this certainly gave me a laugh. Sorry.. but it was a good post!

I think Walmart would give you the each item for $1.50.
2X $1.50=$3.00...

What do you expect considering where the store is located..
you're lucky you didn't get mugged inside the store...

you followed him to the alley, didja?

Im still figuring out how the poster thought it was "buy two items and get a 3rd for three dollars." What school did you go to?

MRM, that's what the clerk told the OP.

yeah the clerk needs a refresher in basic education i think...
Posted by MRM on 2009-06-08:
MM, thanks for pointing that out.

2/$3 = 1@$1.50 + 1@$1.50 + 1@$3.00 I think the clerk was smart. He came up with a conclusion based on how our economy is. Think about how much money could be spent if we had clerks like this everywhere!!! People wouldn't be foolishly spending, they would be more prudent about their choices!!! Yeah, that's the ticket....Sorry, getting ready and thinking about work is starting to drain the life outta me.
Posted by PepperElf on 2009-06-08:
yeah 1.5 + 1.5 = 3

but he wanted to basically charge her full price for one.
and then told her she'd have to buy 2... and hten she could buy a third for 3.

so that would be what... 3 bottles for 6
