Applebee's Complaint - Misguided "Manager"
BRIGHTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I ate for the third time in my local Applebee's in Brighton, MA. Since I am no stranger to food after cooking and waiting on tables for over 6 years and dining out frequently from fast foods to the most elegant dining establishments, I was absolutely dismayed by the reaction a certain male individual dressed in a wrinkled open neck shirt came to my table after I had informed the wait staff that the dish brought out to me was not haddock that I had ordered. The appearance and taste, confirmed by my dining partner, were more of a fairly flat fillet of Tilapia. The male promptly said without even closely surveying the dish "We serve only two kinds of fish here-Haddock, and Tilapia--that's Haddock". To someone with my lengthy and extensive experience, that left a very ugly taste. The wait staff promptly removed my dish, and brought back the real McCoy after another 10 minutes.
But, where was the "manager"? Why, he was at the other side holding up the wall! Complaint e-mailed to HQ. Response was they would look into the matter and may have to "re-educate" the "manager".
Alas, I will never go back.
