Orange Lake Country Club - Kissimmee, FL Complaint - Attempted Scam - Vacation Package
We arrived to the resort for a 7 night stay and the check in host tried to scam us immediately. She asked if we wanted the special of 7 day usage of floatable inner tubes for their lazy river and use of the water sports equipment for all five of us for $85. We agreed and gave her a credit card. She ran the card and came back to tell us that we were charged $260, but would receive a refund of $175 after our "update meeting" which is really a sales pitch. I asked for a refund and that I was no longer interested. She told me that she forgot to explain how the process worked. I told her that she didn't forget and that this was purposely done to try and make a commission by sending us to their sales pitch. She proceeded to ask me how much I make an hour. I told her not to use the example of saving $175 for 1 hour when it's really giving me back my own money for 1 hour of my time. She came back with one of her supervisors to try and make us keep the deal. I simply told them that I work for a timeshare company. Her supervisor told her that she would have to "take the hit" and to immediately refund the amount charged.
Working for a timeshare company makes to ineligible for any discounts, perks, or savings by another timeshare company. Just a little trick if you ever find yourself in that situation.
