DirecTV Inc Complaint - DTV Customers Be Aware If Adding Additional Rooms
Horrible, dirty, thieves, liars, are just a few chose words for Direct TV. Biggest complaint is my recent upgrade, added two more rooms with 1 HD box & 1 HD DVR. $300.00 + tax and another 2 years, for boxes I have to return when I cancel. I cringed but was somewhat ok with that until I realized they gave me an old HR20 for the DVR box, which is an older model. It's a refurbished box and they don't make them anymore. The box I first received with the installation was an HR22. Besides some of the smaller differences between the two, the big one is I get 100 hours of HD record time for the HR22 and only 30 hours for the HR20.
I could go on for hours about other complaints but I called them 2 days after the upgrade and asked them for a newer model and why I got the old if I am paying $200.00 for there equipment. ALL SALES ARE FINAL is the wonderful answer I received. If you are upgrading you might want to try solidsignal.com first. I found the website after the fact and I could have paid $200.00 for the receiver I wanted. (still have to return it for some reason but you still get to pick the box) Plus, the three times that I needed them to come to the house and they gave the 4hour time period. twice they were 4 hours late.
I am getting sick of big company's not worrying about customer service or just fair service. For now on I am going to do as much research as possible can before getting into these contracts. DON'T TRUST THERE REPS, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND RESEARCH..
