ATT Complaint - AT&T Very Bad - Cell Phone
ATWATER, CALIFORNIA -- I went online to AT&T to look at a family plan and decided to order along with 3 phones. I paid the customary charge of 128.83 and it went thru. 2 weeks later we got the phones with the invoice and the phones were activated. Once I received the phones we canceled service with another provider. We had no issues with the phones whatsoever BUT 3 weeks later, our phones were disconnected. I am a cross country truck driver but luckily I was only 30 minutes away from my home. My wife called AT&T and they told her the bill was $ 1800.00! she was told that it was from internet being used on the phone.
One of the phones had a data package and the other 2 were not using the internet. After over 2 hours of being on the phone, my wife was finally told by another person in customer support that each of our 3 phones has a 500.00 deposit on them. We were not told when placing the order online, or even when we got our service contract. We even called into AT&T 2 weeks after getting the phones to add protection and we were not told then. We have email confirmations from AT&T and they were not indicating a 500.00 deposit for each phone. We are extremely upset about this, we have no phones, my son is in scout camp and has no way of contacting us, I am a truck driver and need a phone!
AT&T did nothing but emailed return labels. I am very disappointed with this company. Had we known about all this, we would have not continued with service and canceled our other company.
