Norwegian Cruiseline Compliment - NCL - Majesty

Compliment
Review by PassingBy on 2009-06-11
Last week I sailed from Baltimore to Bermuda on the NCL Majesty. Before I went I read numerous reviews on this specific ship. Most of the reviews had complaints about the age and poor condition of the ship and rude crew members. In my opinion the ship was in very fine shape and the crew was outstanding. Crew members were constantly keeping things clean and were never intrusive. Lines for food were usually very short. We were never 'nickel & dimed' for anything. But one does have to pay attention when extras are offered. For example playing BINGO can cost $30-$70 depending on how many cards you want.

However, I do have one complaint. In the restaurants don't order any beef. Apparently they only cook steaks to well done regardless of how the order was placed. Their idea of well done is over done making the meat tough.

Do any of the cruise lines allow you to tour a ship before purchasing from them? Never been on one.

Due to security no one without a ticket can board a ship. They are extremely strict on this. All the cruise lines have photos on their web pages.

Awesome review, PB. I've always wanted to cruise NCL. I've cruised on Carnival and Princess in the past. I would have been ticked too, if they overcooked my meat.

Out of curiousity, what type of stateroom did you book?

Do those pictures include the toilets overflowing into the room and people hurling over the railing? lol

Great review! Especially about the beef. I'd be pretty upset if I ordered a medium steak and got served shoe leather.

MissMarple: Had an 'outside' stateroom. The 'interior' rooms are a bit larger but I like a window.

DC: During the voyage home we did experience some rough seas. Convenience bags were available in all elevators. The toilets are on a vacuum system so they can't overflow.

PB, thanks. I'd love to cruise from Baltimore. **rapidly adding money to my cruise account**

OH, you got the good ship! There was a show on TV a couple of days ago about a ship that people live on and cruise around the world. That would be a great way to live for a year or two.

I think I've seen every show about cruises on the Travel Channel. This Sat. night, Samantha Brown has a new one on.

I'm kind of iffy about going on those cruise lines, with all of the Dysentery outbreaks that happen.

Wally, fine. More room for me.
