Mary Kay Inc Complaint - They Almost Got Me
I was invited to my friends house for a Mary Kay party, she said just come don't need to buy anything. Next thing you know I am being pressured by the sales lady from Mary Kay and ended up buying $50 worth of moisturizers and lotions that are identical to what I got a few months back at target... I later get a call from this representative asking to come to a meeting and see if Id like to "join the team". I never had any intentions to join but went anyways to listen what they offer. Basically said- Its similar to the whole 'Pyramid' sales concept. You only make money the more people you sign up under you.
But they said the products are still great, its just more beneficial to have more recruits. The Mary Kay representative came to my house the next day still insistent I try it out, its just a small $100 investment...?! But then you have to buy hundreds if not thousands of dollars of product to have available at parties and orders. She was at my house for 3 hrs and wouldn't take a hint!!! She said 'i will call you tomorrow and let me know', it will be a yes right?? WRONG!!! I had to surf the web to investigate any complaints and - WOW - are they out there.
It has made up my mind finally that I will NOT join their "team" and get sucked into selling over priced product that is so readily available at stores like macys or even target, and you don't have to wait for the order! **Think about it...if their wasn't so may 'consultants' out their selling this crap, and just sold it in stores, it would be probably half the cost!!! Its a money making scam that is NOT looking out for the Women of the world....
