Cellular South Informative - Its Ok....Good Priced Plans....
STARKVILLE, MISSISSIPPI -- I was looking for reviews on other phone companies and I came accross this site. I am thinking about leaving Cellular South for another company.
I like Cellular South because they have a one rate plan so you don't have to count minutes. That plan is like only $50...unlimited talk and txt.
The only problem that I have had is with my phone. I do have to reset it a lot. I had insurance on my treo and have replaced it 3 times. Cellular South no longer carries any Treos. I almost refuse to go to the Blackberry (which is just about all they have, minus a few new ones they just got in. I am interested in the finesse, but we will see.) Also, if you buy a pda they are now requiring the Data plan. But it is still good..because the talk/txt is 50 and the data is 40 so that is 90, plus taxes of course. But most phones don't have the best browser interface, and the internet is NOT fast. They may have upgraded their speeds - but when I had the net, it sucked.
I do have the problem of my phone sometimes not ringing, and I get double txts/and send double txts and sometimes the phone just doesn't ring. But, I don't know if that is the actual phone that has the issue, or is that the service not picking up in my area, Starkville, MS on a rocky road...
I looked at ATT, and their unlimited talk/txt is 90. But you have to add DATA to that (required with the I phone) which raises it to 140 - 150 a month plus taxes. That is really more than I would like to pay for phone service. And I would like the option to not have the net if I don't want it.
I read reviews on AT&T and a lot of ppl said Verizon is better coverage wise. So I was looking at Verizons BB Storm, but that phone has terrible reviews, although I hear the BB updates totally fixed the slow and crashing errors. Who wants to buy a phone that has such terrible reviews..the issues sound like my treo issues..I would be very disappointed.
I just want a cool PDA with the option to have the net if I want, and I want a regular browser, not basic txt...thats what I had with the TREO, so why would I want to stay on the same level as the treo and not get better...It just seems I have to have AT&T for the phone I want, but Cellular South for the plan I want.
Maybe you aren't as techie as I, or don't care about the kind of phone you have, but I would like my phone to serve more than just a phone. Expecially since it should be able to play music, and replace my mp3 player...I want it to be able to take good pictures, because it is advertised as having that ability. If it's isn't good at a particular feature, don't put it in the phone.
Cellular South has just come out with some decent phones, although some reviews don't say the new phones are all awesome, but mostly good. If I could find a great awesome cool phone, I would stick with them for the plan pricing.
Is it worth having the phone you want, but pay more for the plan...well, I guess so if the phone doesn't shut off, reboot, and lose calls and miss calls, itd be worth paying more vs a lesser plan with a sucky experience daily with your phone/serice.
So, I guess to each it's own. I am still in search of a cool phone with good plan/service prices.
