CYCLE SPECTRUM Katy Texas Complaint - Why do customers get treated this way?

Review by Kirkb9090 on 2009-06-15
KATY, TX -- On 6/14/2009 I entered the Cycle Spectrum shop @ 528 S. Mason Rd Katy Tx 77450 I was greeted by a young man and told him my problem. My wife bought a basket that attached to the front of a bike from them. I was putting it on that morning and one of the bolts seemed to pop when I tightened it. So I took the bike up there to show them and to see if they had any ideas that would help or to see if it was defective. The young man took the bike into the back and was looking at it. I walk around so I could show them what I was talking about and the Owner / Manager not sure what he is said just give him a second and he can find out what is wrong. I really just wanted to show him the bolt so he knew what I was talking about. The Owner / Manager was back there looking at it and asked if I had cut a wire that wrapped around the handlebars and I told him yes it was sticking out. Never the less I just wanted to know about the Bolt that is why I brought it in. It was about 10 Minutes the Owner / manager came out and said it will be 15.95. I said to him for what I just wanted to see if the bolt has a problem. He said you wanted me to fix it correct and I said no the young man knew what I wanted. He became angry and started yelling and I responded the same way. There was bad language flying back and forth and he called me fat. It went on for a few minutes and nothing got resolved. He was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I will never go back and people should know how he treats people. Not a good experience at all. I just wanted to see if the bolt was broke and what I needed to do.

Sounds like there was a miscommunication. Regardless, the manager shouldn't have been verbally abusive or resorted to name calling. By the way, did you raise your voice or become confrontational when he informed you of the charge?

I am sure there was not a communication problem as the Man has a really bad attitude. I have experienced it .There are a lot of really nice bike shops out there and life is too short to put up with being treated like that. I would think he would be working to keep customers in these times. A smile works wonders.
