General Electric Company Complaint - Vegetable Drawers Fall Off their Tracks
Our GE Refrigerator has seen the GE repairman many times and has received parts in the mail. We immediately noticed that the vegetable drawers kept falling off the tracks. We called, and GE sent our refrigerator a replacement set of drawers since they thought they might be warped. Well, that didn't work. The repairman came and said that the track may have something wrong with it and that we could make the repair, so they sent us a new track. We had to take the glass out of the first track and make the switch. Well, that didn't work. Then they sent us new drawers again. We don't have heavy things in our vegetable drawer like 5 pounds of potatoes --- we have onions, lunch meat, cheese (because we took out the meat drawer for more room). One fortunate thing is that the drawers don't have too far to fall - but, as a result of them sliding out while touching the bottom of the refrigerator there are scrape marks on the inside of the appliance.
The last time we saw the GE repairman, he determined these 2 very, very small plastic clips were the reason the drawers fell off the track constantly. He demonstrated how to replace the clips, which was not my cup of tea as I don't want to come home from work every day, and replace plastic clips onto the track after removing the vegetable drawers. I expect more from the refridgerator in my kitchen.
There seems to be a DESIGN FLAW, and I'd love if General Electric would recall the refrigerators whose drawers fall out.
