Raymour and Flannigans Complaint - Furniture
DEPTFORD, NEW JERSEY -- I purhcased a $1,700 sectional sofa for the Raymour and Flannigans in Deptford New Jersey. I arranged a specific time to have the furniture delivered because we were celebrating my son's birthday that same day at a different location. I received a call for the delivery guys and I had to leave my sons birthday party to allow the sofas to be delivered. To my surprise I witnessed the sectional sofa without any plastic wrap and all the cushions were laying around on the trucks dirty floor. The delivery guys unloaded the cushions first and placed them on the floor. I questioned them regarding what kind of protection the sofas had from dust, dirt, and just exposure to the outside weather. Their reply was that there was no plastic to protect them once the sofas left the wearhouse. After the furniture was inside the house, I noticed a peculiar smell in the house. It was the smell of old furniture, perhaps of furniture that was either a floor model, a returned merhcandise, or just furniture that was sitting in a wearhouse for months, unprotected. I think I could have found better furniture from a second hand store. My wife has a medical condition; she is allergic to dust and many other things. I immediately called the store and spoke to the manager. I'll tell you, some people should really learn how to deal with costumers, she was defensive and was not listening to my concerns. I finally asked them to come to remove the smelly furniture out of my house. I had to leave my son's party three times to deal with this situation. I finally received a call for the delivery guys. One of the guys had the nerve to catch an attitude on the phone. I decided not to bother with him and called the store once again. I waited in the house and they showed up about and hour later. (I already was missing out of my son's birthday party). Once the furniture was out of the house I had to open all windows and disinfected the area. I have never had to deal with so such unprofessional people and their lack of costumer service, not to mention the waste of time in such a special day for my son. I will purchase new furniture for my entire house in the near future; I am sure the competitors will appreciate Raymour and Flannigans' lack of costumer service and unacceptable merchandise.
