AAA Compliment - Another late night save from AAA
After filling my tank up at a Circle K this evening, in a car that I haven't used in over a month, and has been irregularly used for the past 9 months; I drove 85 North towards Greensboro from Charlotte, NC.
My car stuttered at 70 mph as if I were unsteadily pulling out of a driveway while in first gear. It got progressively worse until all of the emergency lights went off and my car rolled to a stop in the middle of a busy highway.
After assessing the situation and figuring out that I wasn't going anywhere, I called AAA. I am a gold member so I get 100 miles free towing assistance (which I think is awesome). I called and spoke to a friendly many who assisted me, joked with me, and took all information necessary within a 5 minute or so time phrame. Short and sweet, no automated messages or voicemails like other companys. This man begin to explain to me that I had 100 free miles towing and being the good samaritan that I try to be, I told him that I already used about 40 of them last month on a double flat on a different car, all the way up in New England. He reassured me that the 100 miles starts over in ANY event. How great is that!!! The tow truck was there in less than 30 minutes and my car was safe and sound on the flat bed. The driver took us all the way into Winston Salem and kept us laughing the entire way home. This is the second time I've used AAA, in the span of two months, after having the card for about 5 or so years now and I must say it has been worth it so far! Besides, we get all kinds of discounts from stores, great travel advice, free maps and books that we use often. Thanks AAA
